About Oaxaca
Located in the south of Mexico, the state of Oaxaca is one of the most diverse in the republic. Oaxaca is home to a vast amount of historical, cultural, and ecological riches, and also enjoys a spring-like climate year round, with an average annual temperature of 22 º C (72 º F).
Oaxaca boasts the greatest biodiversity of any state in Mexico. Among its mountains, valleys, and beaches, one can find every ecosystem that exists in Mexico.
The diversity found in nature is reflected in the population: sixteen ethnic groups with their own languages and dialects inhabit Oaxaca. These cultures are famous for their artisan goods of all types, including textiles, woodwork, pottery, iron, precious metals, and leather.
The combination of the cultural, historical, and ecological riches that Oaxaca has to offer, in addition to its accessibility, makes it the perfect place to visit to study Spanish, learn Spanish, relax, and enjoy the best Mexico has to offer.
